Cowboys request interview with Packers DL coach DeMarcus Covington

The Dallas Cowboys have requested an interview with Green Bay Packers defensive line coach and run game coordinator DeMarcus Covington for their defensive coordinator position. Covington, 36, is notable for coaching a unit that includes former Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons. Prior to joining the Packers in 2025, Covington was the defensive coordinator for the New England Patriots in 2024, where he spent eight seasons in various coaching roles and won a Super Bowl. The Cowboys are also considering several other candidates for the position, including Eagles pass game coordinator Christian Parker, Giants interim defensive coordinator Charlie Bullen, former Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon, Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr, and others.
