$2 billion SEC powerhouse becomes college football's most valuable team

Ryan Brewer, a professor at Indiana University-Columbus, has reported a significant increase in the valuation of college football programs, with an average jump of 46% across the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) from the previous season. Brewer's latest valuation places the University of Texas at Austin as the most valuable college football program, valued at $2.2 billion. This marks the first time a college football program's valuation has surpassed the $2 billion threshold.

Despite not reaching the College Football Playoff, Texas surpassed Ohio State, which was valued at approximately $1.957 billion in Brewer's 2025 valuation. Ohio State has now dropped to third place with a valuation of around $1.5 billion. Texas A&M has moved up to second place with a valuation of $1.6 billion.
