Eagles to trade for Jaelan Phillips

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to trade a 2026 third-round pick to the Miami Dolphins for edge rusher Jaelan Phillips. The move reunites Phillips with Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who previously worked with him during the 2023 season in Miami. Phillips, who has recorded 15.5 sacks in his first two seasons and three sacks this season, missed significant time due to injuries, including an Achilles tear and a torn ACL. The Eagles retain the Jets' 2026 third-round pick from a prior trade involving Haason Reddick. In addition to acquiring Phillips, the Eagles have recently traded for cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Michael Carter as they aim to strengthen their roster for a Super Bowl push. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are focusing on rebuilding rather than contending in 2025.
