Exhibit celebrates Black quarterbacks at College Football Hall of Fame

The College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta has unveiled a new exhibit titled "Ascension: Rise of the Black Quarterback," which will run through early summer. This exhibit explores the journey of Black quarterbacks in college football, highlighting their evolution from exclusion to becoming leaders in the sport. The exhibit includes historical artifacts and features influential figures such as Fritz Pollard, Charlie Ward, Steve McNair, Cam Newton, and Lamar Jackson. It also honors HBCU coaches like Eddie Robinson and John Merritt for their contributions to the game. The exhibit aims to confront myths about intelligence and leadership that have historically limited opportunities for Black quarterbacks, celebrating their current prominence in college football and the NFL, where they now represent 50% of starting quarterbacks for the first time.
