Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Nyier Daniels was arrested on multiple charges, including three felonies and ten misdemeanors, after an incident involving fleeing a police officer and reckless driving. Daniels remains in custody following his arrest by Commerce Police. Among the charges are felony second-degree cruelty to children and attempting to elude a police officer. Misdemeanor charges include traffic violations such as stop sign and no-passing zone infractions.

The University of Georgia has acknowledged the arrest, stating that they are gathering more information but have no further comment at this time. Reports indicate Daniels is no longer with the team.

This arrest is the latest in a series of driving-related incidents involving Georgia football players, with over 20 such occurrences since January 2023. Head coach Kirby Smart has taken a stricter stance on such matters, having previously suspended players for similar offenses. Daniels, a redshirt freshman, had participated in three games this season, including a recent win over Charlotte.
