Giants make outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen their interim defensive coordinator

The New York Giants have appointed outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen to oversee the defense following the dismissal of Shane Bowen. Despite having former defensive coordinators Marquand Manuel and Andre Patterson on staff, interim head coach Mike Kafka chose Bullen for the role. Bullen, in his second season with the Giants, previously coached at the University of Illinois and has experience with the Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins. The team has yet to formally announce the decision, with Kafka expected to address the media in a press conference on Monday.
