Indiana officially announces Tino Sunseri's return as quarterbacks coach, co-offensive coordinator

Tino Sunseri has returned to Indiana University's football coaching staff as the quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator, the program announced. Sunseri, who was previously with Indiana in 2024, is replacing Chandler Whitmer, who has accepted a position with the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sunseri spent part of the 2025 season at UCLA before parting ways following a midseason coaching change.

Sunseri's return to Indiana reunites him with head coach Curt Cignetti and offensive coordinator Mike Shanahan. He will focus on developing TCU transfer quarterback Josh Hoover, among others in the Hoosiers' quarterback lineup. Indiana's quarterback group includes redshirt senior Hoover, seventh-year senior Grant Wilson, and redshirt freshmen Tyler Cherry and Jacob Bell, with a commitment from four-star recruit Jameson Purcell for the 2027 class.

Sunseri's coaching career includes stints at Alabama, Tennessee, Florida State, and James Madison University, where he helped develop award-winning quarterbacks
