Jeremiyah Love reveals tampering attempt before final college season

Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love has revealed that he was the target of a tampering attempt from an unspecified college, which sought to lure him away from Notre Dame. Love disclosed the incident during a Super Bowl week interview with ESPN's Kevin Clark, stating he received a phone call about transferring but dismissed the offer, remaining committed to Notre Dame and head coach Marcus Freeman.

As Love departs for the NFL, leaving a significant void in Notre Dame's offense, the competition to replace him as the starting running back will be intense. Two incoming freshmen, Javian Osborne and Jonaz Walton, are poised to compete for the role. Osborne, from Forney High School in Texas, amassed 4,077 rushing yards and 61 touchdowns in his high school career. Walton, from Central High in Carrollton, Georgia, delivered 5,965 yards and 70 touchdowns during his time in high school. Both players turned down offers from numerous power conference teams to join Notre Dame.
