Jets announce eight interviews for their DC job

The New York Jets have conducted virtual interviews with eight candidates for their open defensive coordinator position. The candidates include Wink Martindale, Jim Leonhard, Chris Harris, Jim O’Neil, DeMarcus Covington, Daronte Jones, Mathieu Araujob, and Ephraim Banda. Martindale, noted for his extensive play-calling experience, recently served as the defensive coordinator for the University of Michigan and has held similar roles with the Giants, Ravens, and Broncos. Leonhard, a former Jets safety, is currently the Broncos' defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator. Harris recently acted as interim defensive coordinator with Aaron Glenn's staff. O’Neil has a history with the Jets and experience as the Browns' defensive coordinator. Covington was the Patriots' defensive coordinator in 2024.
