Jonathan Gannon interviewing for Commanders defensive coordinator on Thursday

Jonathan Gannon is interviewing for the Washington Commanders' defensive coordinator position, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Gannon, recently dismissed as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, previously served as the Philadelphia Eagles' defensive coordinator from 2021 to 2022. Under his leadership, the Eagles' defense ranked second in yards allowed and eighth in points allowed in 2022, helping the team become NFC Champions before losing in Super Bowl LVII to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Commanders are considering multiple candidates for the role, including Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores and Seahawks defensive backs coach/pass game coordinator Karl Scott.
