Major college football programs receive bad news from former SEC QB

Former Auburn quarterback Ashton Daniels has committed to Florida State, creating a ripple effect in the college football transfer portal. Daniels, who previously played at Stanford, threw for nearly 4,000 yards there but had limited playing time at Auburn, recording 797 passing yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions over four games. His decision to join Mike Norvell’s program at Florida State has caused several other schools to reassess their quarterback recruitment strategies.

Daniels had previously visited Baylor, which further complicates their pursuit of quarterbacks, including Florida transfer DJ Lagway. Lagway, whose father played for Baylor, also visited Florida State, potentially narrowing his options following Daniels' commitment.

Kentucky, initially interested in Daniels, shifted focus to Notre Dame transfer Kenny Minchey after Daniels committed to Florida State. Minchey has since committed to Kentucky, having previously chosen Nebraska.
