Massive NIL overtures from other schools couldn't delay Ty Simpson's NFL dreams

Ty Simpson, a former Alabama quarterback, has made the decision to declare for the NFL Draft despite lucrative NIL offers from college programs. Simpson, who recently completed his paperwork to enter the draft, was offered up to $6.5 million by Miami to play another season of college football, with similar offers from Tennessee and Ole Miss. Ultimately, Simpson chose to pursue his lifelong dream of playing in the NFL, with projections indicating he could be a first-round pick.

Simpson, who served as Alabama's starting quarterback last season, cited personal values and the influence of former coach Nick Saban in his decision-making process. Saban advised him to consider what he truly wanted if money were not a factor. Simpson, who has earned both bachelor's and master's degrees from Alabama, emphasized his happiness and the legacy he built with the Crimson Tide as reasons for his decision.

Throughout his college career, Simpson threw for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns last season, with only five interceptions in 523 attempts.
