Matthew Stafford wins 2025 AP NFL Most Valuable Player award

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has been named the 2025 AP NFL Most Valuable Player at the NFL Honors in San Francisco. Stafford narrowly edged out New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye in a close vote, receiving 366 points and 24 first-place votes compared to Maye's 361 points and 23 first-place votes. Buffalo Bills and Chargers quarterbacks received the remaining first-place votes.

During the 2025 season, Stafford led the NFL with 4,707 passing yards, 276.9 passing yards per game, and 46 touchdown passes, while throwing only eight interceptions. He ranked second in passer rating at 109.2 and led the league in first downs with 236. The Rams finished the regular season with a 12-5 record, securing the fifth seed in the NFC playoffs.
