Michigan State Adds Experienced Safety Devin Vaught From Maine

Michigan State has strengthened its defensive backfield by securing safety Devin Vaught from the transfer portal. Vaught, who spent three seasons at Maine, brings considerable experience and production to the Spartans. Standing at 6-foot and weighing 205 pounds, the Charlotte, North Carolina native was a standout at Mallard Creek High School before joining Maine.

In the 2025 season, Vaught played in 12 games, amassing 60 tackles and leading his team with three interceptions. He also contributed five pass breakups. His notable performance in 2024 included 43 tackles and three interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. With two years of eligibility left, Vaught is anticipated to compete for a starting safety position at Michigan State, bolstering their secondary with his proven track record and defensive instincts.
