NC State projected to land QB Gunner Rivers, son of Philip Rivers

Philip Rivers, a former standout quarterback for NC State, may see his legacy continue at the university through his son, Gunner Rivers. Gunner is a four-star quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class and is highly sought after by NC State head coach Dave Doeren. The Wolfpack are currently favored to secure his commitment, with Rivals analyst Steve Wiltfong projecting him to choose NC State. The Rivals recruiting prediction machine gives NC State a 97.3% chance of landing him.

Gunner Rivers, ranked as the No. 79 overall player and the No. 7 quarterback in his class, is also the No. 2 player from Alabama. Despite NC State's favored status, Rivers has visited other programs, including Auburn and Texas. At St. Michael Catholic High School, Rivers has had an impressive career, throwing for 10,200 yards, 111 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions over 39 games.
