NFL will again celebrate the John Madden legacy on Thanksgiving

The NFL will celebrate John Madden's legacy on Thanksgiving with tributes during the Packers-Lions, Chiefs-Cowboys, and Bengals-Ravens games. Each of the six participating teams will wear jersey patches honoring Madden, and the coin toss will feature Madden's silhouette and a six-legged turducken. The MVPs of the games will receive a Madden trophy and will select a high school or youth football program to receive a $10,000 donation from the NFL Foundation. Proceeds from auctioned game items will benefit the John Madden Foundation for Oakland's youth. Additionally, Peacock will offer a unique EA Sports Madden NFL Cast during the Bengals-Ravens game, incorporating video game elements with the live broadcast. Madden, who passed away in December 2021, is celebrated for his contributions as a Hall of Fame coach, broadcaster, and namesake of the popular video game. The NFL has honored Madden on Thanksgiving annually since 2022.
