Nyier Daniels arrested: Georgia OL faces four felony charges including fleeing police

Georgia offensive lineman Nyier Daniels was arrested in Jackson County on Sunday, facing multiple felony charges including fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and two counts of second-degree cruelty to children. He also faces misdemeanor charges such as reckless driving and speeding. Daniels, a redshirt freshman, recently played in Georgia's win against Charlotte, marking his third game appearance.

This arrest adds to a series of driving-related incidents involving the Georgia football program, which has seen more than 20 such cases since January 2023. These incidents have involved both players and staff, highlighting ongoing issues within the program regarding traffic violations and related offenses. Daniels was a highly rated recruit from Oradell, New Jersey, ranked as the No. 223 overall prospect in the 2024 class. The University of Georgia has acknowledged awareness of Daniels' arrest.
