Penn State Coaching Staff Details Quarterback Rocco Becht's Rehab Progress

Penn State's new starting quarterback, Rocco Becht, is recovering ahead of schedule from offseason shoulder surgery and is expected to begin throwing during spring drills. Becht, who transferred from Iowa State, sustained a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder last season but continued to play, amassing 2,584 passing yards and 16 touchdowns. Despite the injury, he participated in every game for Iowa State, demonstrating notable leadership and resilience, as highlighted by head coach Matt Campbell.

Penn State's quarterbacks coach, Jake Waters, confirmed Becht's progress and anticipates his involvement in spring practice, albeit with no contact. The team aims for Becht to participate in the Blue-White scrimmage in April. Penn State's quarterback roster has expanded with the addition of four new quarterbacks, including redshirt freshman Alex Manske, freshmen Peyton Falzone and Kase Evans, and Division III standout Connor Barry.
