The committee will also return to in-person voting after conducting virtual meetings due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl-winning coach, was notably left out of the Class of 2026 on his first ballot appearance, sparking widespread criticism and scrutiny of the voting process. The current process involves selecting three of five finalists, with the top vote-getters needing over 80% approval to be inducted.
