Report: Antonio Pierce to interview with Giants this week

The New York Giants are set to interview former franchise player Antonio Pierce for their head coaching vacancy. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Pierce will meet with the team on Thursday and Friday. Pierce, 47, previously served as the Las Vegas Raiders' interim head coach in 2023 and was appointed full-time in 2024. The Raiders had a 5-4 record under Pierce's interim leadership but struggled with a 4-13 record in his full-time season.

Pierce played for the Giants from 2005 to 2009 and was a key figure in their victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. The Giants' interview with Pierce will fulfill the Rooney Rule requirement, enabling them to proceed with their hiring process. The team has also been in discussions with former Falcons head coach Raheem Morris. Meanwhile, former Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is reportedly considered the favorite for the position, with interviews anticipated next week.
