Report: Giants working to finalize deal with John Harbaugh for head coach

John Harbaugh is in negotiations with the New York Giants to become their next head coach, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal is expected to be finalized soon, pending contract negotiations. This development follows Harbaugh's interview with the Giants on Wednesday, which reportedly included a session with quarterback Jaxson Dart. Previously the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, Harbaugh was dismissed after an 8-9 season in 2025. During his 18-year tenure with the Ravens, he achieved a 180-113 regular-season record and led the team to a Super Bowl victory in 2012. The Giants have completed the requirements of the Rooney Rule, having interviewed two minority candidates, allowing them to make an immediate hiring decision. Harbaugh was also scheduled to interview with the Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons, but those plans may be altered if an agreement with the Giants is reached.
