Steelers request interviews with Brian Flores, Anthony Weaver

The Pittsburgh Steelers have identified two candidates to potentially replace head coach Mike Tomlin: Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores and Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver. The Steelers have formally requested interviews with both individuals.

Brian Flores, 44, previously worked with the Steelers as a senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach during the 2022 season before joining the Vikings as their defensive coordinator. Flores has also recently been interviewed by the Baltimore Ravens following their decision to part ways with head coach John Harbaugh.

Anthony Weaver, 45, has been the Dolphins' defensive coordinator for the past two seasons. He has significant experience within the AFC North, having served as the Ravens' defensive line coach from 2021 to 2023 and holding a similar position with the Cleveland Browns from 2014 to 2015. Weaver also played as a defensive end for the Ravens and the Houston Texans during his NFL career.
