Texas flips coveted 2026 OT Kaden Scherer from Stanford

Georgetown, Texas, three-star offensive tackle Kaden Scherer has flipped his commitment from Stanford to the University of Texas. Scherer made this decision after visiting Austin and attending a game where Texas defeated Arkansas 52-37. The appeal of staying close to home and playing under Texas' offensive line coach Kyle Flood were significant factors in his decision. Scherer, previously committed to Stanford since June, expressed that the combination of life, academics, and football at Texas made it an ideal fit. He had also considered TCU, Virginia, Kansas State, and Northwestern before his original commitment to Stanford. Scherer is ranked as the No. 1151 overall prospect and No. 84 offensive tackle in the 2026 class by Rivals, which rates him as the No. 56 offensive tackle in the nation.
