Three College Football Programs in Recruiting Battle for Elite Edge Rusher

George Parkinson, a four-star edge rusher from Douglassville, Pennsylvania, is attracting interest from top college football programs for the 2028 recruiting cycle. Ohio State, Oregon, and Texas A&M are among the schools vying for his commitment. Parkinson plans to visit Ohio State on March 26, Oregon on April 1, and Texas A&M on April 9. Ohio State currently ranks highly in recruiting for 2028, boosted by the commitment of another top edge rusher, Jameer Whyce.

Parkinson is also considering visits to Michigan, Notre Dame, LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Miami, and Clemson. He is ranked as the No. 8 edge rusher and the second-best player from Pennsylvania. According to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine, Penn State is the current frontrunner for Parkinson’s commitment, with a 35.8% likelihood, followed by Ohio State with a 13.8% chance.
