49ers sign Eric Kendricks to 53-man roster

The San Francisco 49ers have bolstered their roster ahead of the wild card round against the Philadelphia Eagles by signing linebacker Eric Kendricks to the 53-man roster. Kendricks, who was previously on the practice squad, replaces linebacker Tatum Bethune, who has been placed on injured reserve due to a torn groin sustained in the Week 18 loss to Seattle. Bethune was filling in for All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner, who may return if the 49ers advance. Kendricks has participated in three regular-season games with one start, recording six total tackles. The 49ers also activated the 21-day practice window for receiver Jacob Cowing to return from injured reserve. Additionally, linebacker Kyzir White has joined the practice squad, and linebacker Milo Eifler has been signed to a futures contract.
