AP Player of Week: Jeff Sims sets Arizona State QB rushing record with 228 yards against Iowa State

Arizona State quarterback Trenton Sims has been named the Associated Press national player of the week for Week 10. Sims, stepping in for the injured Sam Leavitt, achieved a remarkable feat in the Big 12 by rushing for 228 yards and passing for 177 yards in a 24-19 victory over Iowa State. This performance made Sims the first Big 12 player since Vince Young in 2005 to surpass 200 yards rushing and 175 passing in a single game. His 88-yard touchdown run also set a new ASU quarterback record.

The runner-up for the week is North Carolina State running back Jayden "Duke" Scott, who rushed for a career-high 196 yards and scored a touchdown, leading the Wolfpack to a 48-36 upset win over Georgia Tech.
