Colorado Building One of College Football’s Strongest Transfer Portal Classes

Following a disappointing 3–9 season in 2025, Colorado football, led by coach Deion Sanders, has been active in the transfer portal to revamp its roster. As of January 12, 2026, Colorado boasts the No. 16 transfer portal class nationally, ranking fifth in the Big 12. The team focused on acquiring players with proven production and leadership, such as wide receiver Danny Scudero from San Jose State and defensive back Boo Carter from Tennessee.

Scudero, a 2025 All-American, brings significant offensive capability with 1,291 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, filling an explosive-play void. Carter adds SEC-tested athleticism and versatility to a secondary in need of reinforcement. Santana Hopper from Tulane, a highly-rated defensive lineman, is expected to strengthen Colorado's defensive front with his ability to disrupt plays.
