Deebo Samuel's contract with the Washington Commanders has officially voided, resulting in a $12.3 million cap hit for the team in 2026. Samuel will become an unrestricted free agent on March 11, 2026. The 30-year-old wide receiver, who was traded from the San Francisco 49ers to the Commanders last year, is approaching free agency after a season where he recorded a career-low 10.1 yards per catch. The 49ers had previously traded Samuel for a fifth-round pick to relieve themselves of his contract. Samuel, a first-team All-Pro in 2021, will now assess his market value as he enters free agency.
