No. 1 College Football WR Recruit Locks in Another Visit

Easton Royal, the top-ranked wide receiver recruit for the 2027 class according to On3Sports, has expanded his list of official visits to include LSU, despite his verbal commitment to Texas. Initially committed to Texas in November after an unofficial visit, Royal had previously scheduled visits to Tennessee and Florida, in addition to Texas. LSU's inclusion adds another SEC contender vying for the highly sought-after prospect from New Orleans.

Royal, known for his speed with a 10.3-second 100-yard dash, is a significant open-field threat and is expected to make an immediate impact in college. His commitment to Texas, currently ranked ninth in On3's 2027 recruiting class rankings, is challenged by these potential visits. Texas's class includes standout EDGE Cameron Hall, but Royal is the only wide receiver currently committed.
