Ole Miss' Trinidad Chambliss granted injunction paving way for sixth season of eligibility

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss has been granted a temporary injunction allowing him to play college football in 2026, following a legal battle with the NCAA. Chambliss sued the NCAA in Lafayette County Chancery Court in Mississippi after being denied a medical waiver for an additional year of eligibility due to a respiratory condition experienced in 2022. He argued that complications from tonsillitis and chronic fatigue caused him to miss the 2022 season.

Chambliss previously played for Division II Ferris State from 2021 to 2024 before transferring to Ole Miss, where he became the starting quarterback in 2025. He led the Rebels to the national semifinals, completing 66.1% of his passes for 3,937 yards and scoring 30 total touchdowns.
