Sam Darnold seeks his first playoff win, in his eighth NFL season

Quarterback Sam Darnold is set to compete for his first playoff victory today as he leads the Seattle Seahawks against the San Francisco 49ers. Drafted third overall by the New York Jets in 2018, Darnold has since played for five different NFL teams. Under his leadership, the Seahawks achieved a 14-3 record and secured the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs this season. Darnold previously led the Minnesota Vikings to a 14-3 record last year but fell short in the playoffs with a 27-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Alongside Tom Brady, Darnold is one of only two quarterbacks in NFL history to achieve back-to-back 14-win regular seasons. However, unlike Brady, Darnold has yet to see postseason success, a situation he aims to change with today's game.
