Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba named 2025 AP NFL Offensive Player of Year

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was named the 2025 AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year during the NFL Honors event in San Francisco. Smith-Njigba, who will compete in Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots, secured the award over finalists Christian McCaffrey, Puka Nacua, Bijan Robinson, and Drake Maye. He received 272 points and 14 first-place votes, surpassing McCaffrey's 223 points and 12 first-place votes. This marks the second time a Seahawks player has won the award, following Shaun Alexander's win in 2005.

Smith-Njigba led the NFL with 1,793 receiving yards on 119 catches, scoring 10 touchdowns. He consistently accumulated 72 or more receiving yards in 15 of 17 games. The wide receiver was also one of three unanimous All-Pro selections for the season. Despite offseason concerns about his readiness to become the Seahawks' No
